Ribbon cutting of the Centennial Benches with Ƶ’s esteemed alumni donors.

The Ƶ Alumni Relations Office (ARO) held a thanksgiving ceremony for alumni donors who contributed to the office’s various initiatives and projects, including scholarships, livelihood, community services, and cultural and sports development programs.

Honorees included Ƶ Board Trustee Sherisa Nuesa, former Dean of Nursing Dr. Lydia A. Palaypay, Ƶ Alumni Foundation Inc. (ƵAFI) President Christopher Ferareza, ƵAFI Board Member Dr. Rosalind Wee, REX Group of Companies Chairman/President Atty. Dominador Buhain Jr., Foodsphere Inc. Founder Corazon Dayro Ong, MegaWorld Corporation Chief Operating Officer Lourdes Gutierrez-Alfonso, DDB Group Chairman/CEO Gil Chua, among others. Vice President for Corporate Affairs Dr. Rowena Capulong Reyes and ARO Director Celmer L. Santos awarded plaques of appreciation to the honorees.

Homegrown talents Ƶ Chorale and Ƶ Dance Company delighted the audience with their performance, which featured harmonies and and moves.

Jezelle Ann Tipon-tipon, a nursing graduate and one of the scholarship recipients, shared how a scholarship grant changed her life.

“The [Lydia A. Palaypay Endowment] allowed me to fully concentrate on my studies and clinical duties without the burden of financial worries,” said Tipon-tipon. “As I continue on my journey as a future healthcare professional, I carry with me the profound impact of the scholarship and remain forever grateful for the opportunities it has provided.”

Wee, representing ƵAFI, offered the attendees words of inspiration.

Prior to the awarding of plaques, guests witnessed the ceremonial unveiling of the updated Ƶ Centennial Tree and the ribbon-cutting for the second batch of the Ƶ Centennial Benches. Both fundraising initiatives are geared toward ensuring that the “torch” is passed on to the next generation of Tamaraws.
