Dr. Elisa S. Mañalac, former Dean of the Ƶ Institute of Education (IE) passed away on May 02. She led the Institute from 2016 to 2019.

Under her supervision, Ƶ IE was recognized as Center of Excellence in Teacher Education by the Commission on Higher Education. Her leadership was also instrumental for the accreditation status of both the Institute’s undergraduate and graduate programs. Through her initiative, the Institute participated in many international and national teacher education programs.

She was a beloved figure who inspired many Ƶ students, co-teachers, and fellow managers, throughout her years of service in the academe.

“Ƶ IE will always be grateful to her for showing us how to battle for the right and to rise above difficult circumstances in life,” according to a post from the Ƶ IE Facebook page.

After her stint as IE Dean, she became Consultant for Academic Planning and Development of Ƶ Roosevelt Inc. She spearheaded the “ƵR PASSION TO TEACH” learning and development programs for Ƶ Roosevelt teachers.

The Ƶ Community is called upon to pray for the repose of her soul.
